Happy Thanksgiving!

To all my friends and family on the Corrlinks system:

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!  I hope you are all well on this Thankgiving day and are able to spend time with family and/or friends today.  I want to take this time to tell you all how thankful I am to have you all in my life.  I am greatful for your support through this challenging time.

I have now been here for over 9 weeks, and can see the finish line.  Although I don’t know when I will be able to go home yet, the clock has started and I’m well into the process.

I’m told we will get a special turkey day meal today.  It is supposed to be a large turkey leg, mashed potatoes and some other things.

We’ve had some good weather here, although it has turned chilly at night.  Most days have been up in the 60’s or 70’s and I’ve been able to get 2-3 miles of walking or walking/jogging in.  I’ve played a good bit of bocce ball and am getting pretty good at it.  I’ve lost 11 pounds since I’ve been here, close to my 15 pound goal at 12 weeks here.  I should be able to make that number by the 12th week and keep going after that.

For all of you that have been sending emails and snail mail, thank you very much!  Even with 300 or so people here, it is easy to feel isolated, so even just a few words on an email or letter, or a 10 minute conversation is worth more to me than I can express.

Again, have a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Bill
