Home Confinement!

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all doing well.  I am very happy to report that I have been transferred to home confinement!!!  Just two days before Christmas I had passed my 25% threshold and my Case Manager put me in for the CARES ACT, which relates to the COVID pandemic and allows at-risk prisoners to be allowed to finish their sentence on home confinement to minimize risk to COVID. (I am overweight, although I have now lost 27 pounds and am working on another another 23)
I was approved the same day with a release date of February 2nd.  I was issued a furlough to have my wife drive me from Montgomery to the Atlanta halfway house on my way to home confinement.  We had a snafu at the halfway house because nobody mentioned ahead of time that we had to have a land line at our home without call forwarding or 3-way calling. (Who has a land line anymore with all the cell phones???) After my wife scrambled for hours in the afternoon that task was accomplished, but not quickly enough.  I ended up having to stay in the halfway house overnight.  I guess that kind of makes sense since it was groundhog day…  In any case, I came home on the 3rd and will be on home confinement until the end of the sentence.
I thank all of you who reached out to me and those who had me and my family in their thoughts and prayers. I plan on continuing this website and blog, but may take some time before my next posts.  Thank you all so much!

Bill
