I thought I would take a break from my series of the Cornerstones of Culture and do a quick blog about an update for me. I finally got out of quarantine on Friday, after 17 days inside. I can’t complain as they brought us food and I had books and TV as well as another inmate to keep me company. It was a bit boring, but other than that it was fine.
I’m now in a regular unit with about 20 guys in it. I’ve met a number of people and everyone has been quite helpful.
The food is pretty much what you would expect, at times maybe a bit better. For those of you who are 50 or older, it reminds me of High School Cafeteria food, and at times a bit better than that.
The recreation yard has a lot of options. Volleyball, Basketball, Bocci ball, racquetball (outdoor), horseshoes, corn hole, and several other things.
The lights come on during the week in the housing unit at 5:30 in the morning and go out at 10:30 at night.
They have various church services on Sunday, and I was able to go to the Catholic Mass yesterday, which was good.
That’s all I have time for at the moment, you all take care!
