I’ve been busy over the past number of months. I’m grateful that the judge gave me about seven months post sentencing to report to the prison camp. That time has allowed me to get a number of things in order, including downsizing by selling our previous home and moving into something quite a bit smaller and less expensive. It has taken a lot of work to do all the tasks associated with that, and I had a lot of help as well, for which I am also very grateful.
With only seven days left until I report, I’ve spent time putting together a short list of three primary goals for my time in confinement. I expect over time I will expand those goals, but I wanted to start with three solid goals for my first three months and expand from there as time goes on. I expect the goals for after the first three months will still be focused on the same basic topics, but the specific deliverables will evolve to the next level.
My first goal is to get in better shape – I have neglected my physical shape for too long while dealing with the issues that led here. The specifics of this goal are that within the first three months to lose at least 15 pounds and to be able to do 50 standard push-ups without stopping. As I go through the next 90 days, I may add additional goals but this is my starting point with specificity.
My second goal is to expand my communication to friends and to similarly situated people and continue to share my story. This goal will be accomplished by adding to my blog on an average of once weekly and by me reaching out to friends and family through snail mail, email, and phone calls every week. During the last 18 plus months, I have not spent near as much time with friends and family as I normally would, so this will also be a part of this goal.
My third goal is to create at least one more class for PrisonProfessors.com based on my business experience. I don’t expect I’ll be able to do the video until I am released, but I should be able to do the lesson plan. I’ve learned a lot over my business career, and most of the lessons can be used in other areas of life, and all through the business world at any level in any organization.
That’s it for now for me. I don’t know how long it will take after I report before I will be able to communicate with anyone, so it may be a few weeks before my next post comes out.
